FEDERALSBURG COMMUNITY HOBBY FAIR
APRIL 27, 2019

Sponsored by the Federalsburg Historical Society, the Hobby Fair will be held from 10am until 2pm in the Federalsburg Elementary School Cafeteria.

The Hobby Fair was started in 1930 as a school project and exhibit initiated by school Industrial Arts teacher, Max Chambers. It was then held yearly through the 1930’s as a community event but was discontinued for many, many years. The tradition was revived by the Historical Society in 2002 and has become an annual showcase.

This year’s Hobby Fair with both adult and children’s exhibits of hobbies and collections promises to have something for everyone.  All are invited to this FREE event.  While there, be sure to see the historic 1934 Hobby Monument.

A hobby is one of the most enjoyable ways of spending leisure time. Anyone who has a special interest, and would like to exhibit with other hobbyists, is encouraged to participate.  PLEASE CONTACT BART JOHNSON FOR MORE INFORMATION:

The Federalsburg Historical Society is a non-profit community based organization dedicated to preserving and presenting to the public the history of the people, places and events of the Town of Federalsburg on the Eastern Shore Maryland.  We strive to promote and celebrate our unique heritage through historical research, education, and events.  Our museum is located at 100 Covey-Williams Alley, behind the old theater which is now the Town Office.

About Us

The Federalsburg Historical Society was formed on February 21, 2002 with a gathering of twenty local residents. Our mission was to collect and preserve both written and unpublished history of the town.
Many residents have donated memorabilia from their past. Memories of older residents have been recorded and received, reliving
the businesses, industries and social life of their time.

Space is available for class reunions, fund raising, school trips and other activities. The history of Federalsburg and its surrounding will beome more than a memory - it will come alive through observation along with education.
